Here is the audio from our interview with Cape Talk earlier. Thank you to Lead SA for sharing this!
In the last few weeks the Cape Town community has been gripped by fear and shaken to its core as a result of the assaults in Tokai, Khayelitsha and Rhodes Memorial. Sadly, these attacks are by no means unique in the lives of South Africans. We are not safe in our own parks, universities and homes. We need an urgent solution to prevent and respond to these attacks when they take place instead of simply dealing with the aftermath.
We’ve conceptualized a personal safety device called The Guardian that allows a person to send out an immediate alert when they are in danger. Worn on the wrist and linked to a smartphone via Bluetooth, it is quickly and easily triggered and notifies security companies as well as Guardian app users in a 5km radius, allowing for a rapid response. No one should ever experience the brutality of these attacks again.
AllSafe is committed to helping members of the South African community live a life free from violent crime. We want South Africans to feel safe in their parks, schools and homes.
Some of the stories that keep us motivated in trying to make the world a safer place.
Meet the people that are trying to ensure that we are All Safe.
We need all the help we can get.
